The GIFA event scheduled every four years in Düsseldorf, Germany, consistently brings together the largest crowds of any metalcasting event, and that fact continues to be one of its most compelling features. Tagged appropriately as “The Bright World of Metals”, the events planned for June 2015 are intended to present “a complete overview of the international metallurgy market,” according to the planners.
GIFA 2015, the 13th International Foundry Trade Fair with Technical Forum, takes place June 16 - 20, and will span almost 462,800 sq.ft. of exhibition space at the fairgrounds in that city. Parallel exhibitions will include METEC 2015, the 9th International Metallurgical Trade Fair with Congresses (223,900 sq.ft.); THERMPROCESS 2015, the 11th International Trade Fair and Symposium for Thermo Process Technology (108,700 sq.ft.); and for NEWCAST 2015, the 4th International Trade Fair for Precision Castings (est. 64,600 sq.ft.)
“In contrast to many capital goods trade fairs at other locations, there is no sign of a decline of any kind at our four trade fairs,” observed Friedrich-Georg Kehrer, the director of the events for Messe Düsseldorf, the organizing agency. “Düsseldorf is the only place where companies reach the entire global market and this is vital for their business operations.”
GIFA is the largest of the four trade fairs, and plans call for it to inhabit seven exhibition halls. It will be organized according to different areas of exhibitors’ expertise: diecasting and peripheral equipment; gating and feeding technology; metalcasting chemistry; pattern, mold and coremaking; and foundry machinery and plants.
The range of products presented at GIFA 2015 will cover the entire market for foundry plants and equipment, diecasting machinery and melting operations, as well as measurement and testing technology, environmental protection and waste disposal for metalcasting operations.
Among the metalcasting suppliers from around the world known to be exhibiting are diecasting technology experts ABB Automation, ASK Chemicals, Bühler, DISA, Fill, Foseco, Frech, Heinrich-Wagner/Sinto, Hüttenes-Albertus, Italpresse Künkel-Wagner, and Loramendi.
With its Technical Forum and the GIFA Conference, the event will not just be an exhibition but also a high-quality lecture and conference forum, with emphasis on the latest technical and research innovations.
The related NEWCAST 2015 event, which presents innovative cast metal designs, also will offer insights from metalcasting research. NEWCAST will incorporate ferrous and nonferrous castings, linking casting producers with trade representatives, logistic experts, and service providers. Exhibitors at NEWCAST will include Georg Fischer Automotive, Claas Guss, KSM Castings, Giesserei Heunisch and Finoba Automotive.
