Thermal processing group appoints new exec to follow Mortimer

Inductotherm Group reports its new president and chief executive officer is Gary A. Doyon. He is a longtime executive of the Inductotherm Group, which develops and supplies thermal processing systems for manufacturing, including induction melting, induction heating, induction welding and vacuum induction systems.

Doyon follows John Mortimer as president and CEO of the Group. Mortimer’s retirement after nearly 40 years with Inductotherm was announced in December. “John Mortimer, in essence, was the architect of Inductotherm Group, promoting the sharing of both best-practices and technologies among Group companies, which has greatly enhanced the strength of our global organization,” stated Henry Rowan, the company’s founder and chairman. “John’s contributions to this company and the metals industry will long be remembered.”

Doyon joined Inductotherm in 1986 as sales manager of its Thermatool Corp. subsidiary. He later had responsibility for manufacturing, engineering, and purchasing as Thermatool’s vice president of operations. He was named president of Thermatool in 1993, and in 1997 he began to oversee Inductotherm’s welding group.

In 2003, Doyon became vice president of Inductotherm’s Heating and Welding Group, and in 2009 he as named executive vice president of Inductotherm Group.

“Gary brings an exciting energy to the organization,” said Rowan. “I look forward to seeing what the next few years will hold for the Inductotherm Group of companies.”

“The fundamentals of our organization still hold true today. We are entrepreneurial at heart. We are responsive. But, most important, we are customer-driven,” says Mr. Doyon. “In order to effectively support our customers, Inductotherm Group has a global yet local strategy, based on manufacturing/engineering facilities in most industrialized countries with local sales/service providing fast and knowledgeable help.”
