Software developer expects market upswing; sees potential for new business
NovaCast Technologies AB subsidiary NovaCast Foundry Solutions is setting up U.S. subsidiary to manage new sales and support, in anticipation of a improving market conditions. The Chicago office will be headed by Henrik Barth, currently NovaCast Foundry Solutions’ marketing manager for the U.S. “The main reason for establishing the company is to make more visible and to strengthen NovaCast’s presence, as well as to increase access to service and support,” the Swedish company stated. “The American market is preparing for an upswing in the economy and the structural changes that the financial crisis has forced upon the foundry industry have increased the demands for efficiency in product and production development.” NovaCast Foundry Solutions develops and markets software for planning, process control, and environmental control in ferrous foundries. It has issued 640 licenses in 43 countries. The company says the U.S., where Novacast has issued over 100 software licenses, is an important market for its products in view of emerging automotive industry standards and prerogatives. It cites its Graphyte technology for producing compacted graphite iron for engine parts as having particular potential in light of anticipated environmental regulations.
