Trade show organizer Messe Stuttgart announced plans for a new event to help producers of iron and steel castings and forgings to demonstrate their design, manufacturing, and service capabilities. CastForge will take place June 5-7, 2018, in Stuttgart, Germany.
CastForge reportedly expands the industrial market portfolio for Messe Stuttgart. The organizer pointed to the continued high demand for castings and forgings as evidence of sustained growth potential in these industries, along with the need to develop new types of products (e.g., for renewable energy markets) and new manufacturing capabilities (e.g., the incorporation of digital manufacturing technologies.
"With CastForge we have developed a trade fair concept that closes a gap in the trade fair landscape, and the positive response from exhibitors confirms our decision here,” stated Ulrich Kromer, president of Messe Stuttgart. “In future, the industry for cast and forged products and their processing will meet in Stuttgart."
The new expo will take place concurrently with several other events: the Global Automotive Components and Suppliers Expo, the Engine Expo, the Automotive Interiors Expo, the Automotive Testing Expo, Surface Technology Germany, and LASYS Automotive Testing Expo Europe 2018.
“The demand here is for flexible casting plants and forges capable of reacting quickly to individual customer requirements, including small batches,” according to Messe Stuttgart’s announcement.
