HA International, LLC announced a plan to construct a new plant at its manufacturing location in Oregon, IL, to produce feeder systems. The company described the project as “a significant investment,” but did not quote the cost of the new plant or the schedule for completing the project.
Feeders, at times known as risers, are formed devices that serve as part of a gating system for filling molds with molten metal. The feeder works as a reservoir to supply molten metal to the mold, to offset any losses in metal volume that may develop as the metal solidifies in the mold.
The Illinois company is a unit of the HA Group that supplies foundry consumables and technology to North American foundries, including cold-box and no-bake systems, refractories, resin-coated sands, and metal feeding systems.
In its announcement HAI said the new plant will reinforce its commitment to supplying feeders to North American foundries, increasing the visibility of its feeder product line, and expand its current production capabilities.
“This investment is about more than just infrastructure,” according to HAI CEO Gordon McNeilage, “It's about delivering even greater value to our customers.”
It noted that the plant will incorporate “best-in-class technology,” integrating “sustainability practices that reflect HAI’s commitment to environmental responsibility.”
HAI also said the design for the new plant will prioritize energy efficiency and support the company’s broader goals of reducing its environmental footprint.
The company is working with local partners to streamline the permitting and construction phases, ensuring a seamless process that keeps the project on track for a timely and successful completion.
“This facility is a testament to our commitment to pushing boundaries and delivering groundbreaking solutions to the industry,” according to McNeilage.
