Carbide-Tipped Band Saw Blades

Sept. 2, 2019
Triple-chip tooth geometry and a positive rake angle, for precision cutting and finishing

The L.S. STARRETT CO. supplies high-productivity cutting products for foundries, including the Advanz FS carbide-tipped band saw blades featuring triple-chip tooth geometry and a positive rake angle. They are recommended for precise cuts and finish results when cutting abrasive materials.

Advanz FS blades feature teeth ground from high-quality, micro-grained carbide cylinders welded to a tough, ductile backing material, resulting in reduced cutting time and high productivity. These carbide-tipped blades offer exceptional fatigue-, shock-, and wear-resistance for cast materials, gates and risers, abrasive nonferrous metals, and a range of other applications.

L.S. Starret’s Band Saw Blade Selection Tool is an efficient way to configure and select a Starrett band saw blade. Input parameters include specifying the blade type, such as bi-metal, carbide grit, carbide-tipped, carbon, diamond grit or stainless. Users also can designate blade width, thickness and tooth pitch. Results display the Starrett band saw blade with a link to product details including blade features and specifications.

Users also have the option to start the selection process by sorting on the Starrett band saw blade product name.

Starrett can help metalcasters select the right saw blade, set up band-saw machines, and help customers to maximize sawing operations. Starrett offers a wide range of band saw blades, including bi-metal for cutting a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, and carbide-tipped blades, which are ideal for cutting extremely hard, abrasive materials. Band saw blades coated with carbide grit and diamond grit cut highly abrasive materials with precision, producing an excellent finish. A complete line of carbon band saw blades also are available for horizontal and vertical machines with manual or gravity feed.
