The FARO Quantum X FaroArm series is part of a portfolio of portable measurement arms that offer up to 15% increases in accuracy over comparable, previous-generation models. Manufacturers rely on portable CMMs to ensure parts, sub-assemblies, and the machines making the parts are within tolerance. By reducing rework, waste, and scrap, throughput increases and money is saved. Add in the time and expenses recouped in reduced equipment downtime, and a scanning or probing arm delivers an immediate return on investment.
The configurable and scalable arm makes FARO a market leader in accuracy. FaroArm portable coordinate measuring devices allow manufacturers to easily verify product quality by performing 3D inspections, tool certifications, CAD comparison, dimensional analysis, reverse engineering, and more.
Quantum X is supplied with five length options and three accuracy performance levels each, and with multiple Laser Line Probes that address various non-contact measurement needs. The addition of the FARO 8-Axis Max, an 8-axis rotary worktable, reduces measurement time by up to 40% while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
The different Quantum X models are effective at measuring multiple working volumes – 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 m – as needed for different applications,
The design offers kinematic mount flexibility that enhances speed and accessibility and allows LLPs and probes to be interchanged seamlessly, without the need for compensation after each exchange. With its internal counterbalancing, Quantum X arms can be operated with a single hand to limit fatigue, and avoid damaging the FaroArm when a joint is unable to hold the weight.
Thanks to their portability and ergonomic design, users can transport, set up and operate FaroArms easily and comfortably. Because the Quantum X FaroArm integrates with the FARO 8-Axis Max worktable, it’s possible to quickly measure all sides of a part without repositioning.
