BCI casts gray and ductile iron and machines components ready for assembly. The company has been in business since 1939.In its qualification for the award, Bremen Castings stated its case through its commitment to improving business, community, and working with its employees. Community service projects and company/employee-related published articles highlighting the company’s progress were also taken into consideration. Several employees also wrote letters on behalf of BCI, touting the merits of the nomination.
“We are proud of the ongoing efforts of all the winning companies and the small business community at-large,” said Kevin Brinegar, president of the chamber of commerce.
The Small Business of the Year award is open to all Indiana companies with 250 employees or fewer. The Indiana Chamber of Commerce is the state's largest broad-based business advocacy organization for over 85 years. The nearly 5,000 member companies employ over 800,000 workers.
