March 13, 2007 — Accuride Corp. has appointed Steve Holt as its new senior vice president, Strategy, Growth, and Technology. Formerly, Holt had been vice president, Strategic Management and chief information officer for the commercial-vehicle components manufacturer, and in his new position he'll be responsible for the group's growth and new technology.
Evansville-based Accuride produces commercial vehicle wheels, wheel-end components and assemblies, truck body and chassis parts, seating assemblies, and other commercial vehicle components. Its brand lines include Accuride, Gunite, Imperial, Bostrom, Fabco, and Brillion.
Holt joined Accuride in 1997. In addition to directing Accuride's global IT initiatives, he'll be responsible for leading the company's continuous improvement and strategy development.
"In his new role, Steve will lead corporate strategy management and growth initiatives related to the development of new technologies with significant growth potential," stated Accuride president and COO John Murphy.
Also, as part of its corporate strategy, Accuride has created what it describes as a "customer driven strategy" called AccuSolutions to enhance its company-wide customer service. The services include:
- New business technology, which will deliver technologies "to Leverage (Accuride's) competencies.
- Sourcing solutions, to design, engineer, and source products and components.
- Solution Centers, which will be Accuride facilities near major OEM plants that will receive sourcing solution products and components, perform light assembly, kitting, sequencing, and just-in-time delivery.
AccuSolutions will be headed by Terry Neal, who joins Accuride from Bendix L.L.C., where he has been division manager for Operations Customer Support. His initial objective will be to develop the Solutions Centers.
