Toyota to Increase Four-Cylinder Engine Output in North America Toyota Motor Manufacturing plans to expand production at its plant in Huntsville, AL, to include four-cylinder engines, with the new capacity to be in operation by summer 2011. Read more |
Nemak, Saginaw Recalling Workers Nemak’s Windsor Aluminum plant will resume production this week of General Motors Corp. 3.6-liter engine blocks, according to local news reports. The Ontario metalcasting plant halted its output of products for GM in January of this year, as a result of the automaker cutting production. Read more |
Grede to Close Foundries in Michigan, Kansas A gray iron foundry in Vassar, MI and a ductile iron operation in Wichita, KS, will be close “in order to realign capacity and better position the company for profitability in a post recession worldwide economy,” according to a statement by chairman Richard Koenings.
