Aluminum and magnesium castings for aerospace in high demand

Aerocast International Inc. has earned NADCAP certification for its optical emission spectroscopy (OES) capabilities. Aerocast International is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aerocast Inc. The latter produces complex aluminum and magnesium sand castings in Mesa, AZ, and Nogales, Mexico, primarily for aerospace manufacturing.

OES is a reference technique for direct analysis of solid metallic samples. For example, Aerocast uses OES to test metal samples prior to pouring castings. The process’s accuracy, high speed, precision, stability and reliability have made it an essential analysis method for producing high-quality metal products.

Aerocast’s aerospace customers include Honeywell Aerospace, Hamilton Sundstrand and Shimadzu Precision Instruments. The company reports it is experiencing high demand for its products, against limited competition.

NADCAP — the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program — is a global cooperative that sets quality and performances standards for aerospace engineering, defense, and related industries.
